The ATEX Directive embodies the European requirements for equipment used in potentially explosive atmospheres.
ATEX 94/9/EC, BS EN 14986:2007 is the directive on equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
Commonly referred to as the ATEX Directive, it became mandatory on 30th June 2003.
Users of ATEX fans should also be aware of the implications in respect of their own installations. Fan Systems are certified to manufacture ATEX fans for use in hazardous and/or explosive atmospheres in accordance with European directives 94/9/EC (ATEX 95) and 1999/92/EC (ATEX 137).
As part of the ATEX Directive Fan Systems Group have a duty to liaise with our customers and obtain particular information to enable us to select fans of the correct catagory and certification to satisfy application requirements.
