PSB Control Panels for Project in the Heart of Leeds

Due to their specialist capacity, PSB have been successfully appointed to deliver a turnkey project in the heart of Leeds. The project entails the full design, supply, and installation of Smoke Ventilation Systems for both an underground carpark, and the firefighting stair core for the multi-storey building above.

This is a clear example of the outstanding quality and depth of work that PSB have the capacity to undertake: the design of compliant systems to provide appropriate smoke extraction, and extensive design utilising the in-house provision of Control Panels to operate systems.

Utilising its specialist, in-house, electrical and software engineers PSB provide industry-leading Control Panels capable of providing the following benefits:

Car Park

  • –  Mapped control within the carpark linked to sensors monitoring both CO and LPG gases, allowing the system to operate and ensure a clean and healthy atmosphere for those using the facility.
  • – Monitoring and supply from two power supplies ensuring the system is operational at all times regardless of power interruption on site.
  • – Use of specialist inverters that reduce energy consumption, with on-board Fire Mode facility that, in the event the system needs to run under emergency conditions, will continue to do so without risk of premature failure.
  • – Possibility of Energy Saving Mode (optional)
  • – On screen status of extract fans, dampers, CO and LPG gases.
  • – Signals for Building Management System (BMS) can be supplied as Volt Free signals or through Modbus Network which is more advantageous.

Above Ground

  • -Mapped control within the building linked to fire system or smoke sensors allowing the system to operate and ensure a safe atmosphere in escape route for people to evacuate the facility.
  • – Possibility of monitoring and supply from two power supplies ensuring the system is operational at all times regardless of power interruption on site.
  • – Cheaper maintenance of the system thanks to our own battery backup, which provides uninterrupted power for controls- requires less batteries than competing systems.
  • – Flexibility of design to work with 24V or 230V actuators ensuring the best and cheapest solution for that building.
  • – Building temperature control by monitoring the temperature and sequential floor venting when the set point is exceeded.
  • – Tamper proof system by utilising key switches for damper control and password protected multi user with different level access to system settings.
  • – Remote displays to inform the users of day to day functionality of the system, along with the capacity for the attending fire service to take control of the operation should they need to do so in the event of a fire.
  • – Test Mode for building maintenance to perform weakly test of the system.
  • – Networking capabilities with outstations to reduce the excessive cable runs and controls needed allowing real time control and monitoring.
  • – Signals for Building Management System (BMS) can be supplied as Volt Free signals or through Modbus Network which is more advantageous.
