Spring Mews
PSB UK Ltd has been awarded the smoke control system on the Spring Mews project. LJJ ltd of Stockton on Tees.
Spring Mews is a mixed use development incorporating a 400 bedroom student accommodation, a 93 bed hotel, offices, retail, a replacement community center. The student accommodation comprises of three linked buildings fronting Tinworth Street. The central hub building comprises of ground and 7 upper floors with two pavilion buildings either side comprising of ground and 3 upper floors. The ground floor of the central hub building will contain a series of amenity facilities for the students.
The main central hub has four firefighting stairs and each is protected by a PSB UK Ltd lobby smoke control system consisting of roof mounted smoke extract fans, mechanical AOV lobby ventilators and a PSB UK Ltd PLC driven control system.
The Hotel building consists of ground floor and 5 upper floors served by a central firefighting stairwell. There are corridors with extended travel distances to the firefighting stairwell which are provided with a “push pull” smoke control system consisting of roof mounted supply and extract fans, mechanical AOV corridor ventilators and a PSB UK Ltd PLC driven control system.
The 3 storey hub accommodation building has a single escape stairwell which is protected by a natural smoke ventilation system consisting of mechanically activated AOV windows and a PSB UK Ltd PLC driven control system.
