A first within the HVAC Nuclear Industry
The Witt UK Group’s 120,000 sq. ft facility at Halifax was chosen to trial a bespoke modular, turnkey project for a special Extract Ventilation System for a high value customer operating within the Nuclear sector.
The modularised project was commissioned at Witt UK Group’s new UK manufacturing facility.
Configuration, set up, testing, customer sign off and witnessed test by representatives from the National Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) was all undertaken prior to installation on the client’s premises; significantly reducing installation cost and risk.
Witt UK Group – Fan Systems Group was the supplier of choice due to its long history in providing air movement solutions for the nuclear industry. In sixty years, the group has supplied over seventy-five separate installations in the UK alone.
The extract system comprised of run and standby, 316 stainless steel, direct coupled centrifugal fans, operated via a VSD integrated into a control panel incorporating a live conditional monitoring LCD screen. The system was modulated through instrumentation including rotation sensors, flow meters and pressure transducers.
