Circle Health, Birmingham – Car Park Smoke Ventilation System
Circle Health, the hospitals, rehabilitation and healthcare services group, has taken over a state-of-the-art, 14,957 square metre hospital, which is based at Pebble Mill Birmingham.
It is part of a growing portfolio of hospitals by Circle Health, which includes existing hospitals in Bath, Reading and Nottingham.
The new hospital will provide three operating theatres that can be expanded and reconfigured to six, an endoscopy procedure room and 18 in-patient bedrooms, packed with the latest technology, which includes a significant number of rehabilitation beds for patients with musculoskeletal and neurological conditions and comprehensive rehabilitation facilities.
PSB UK Ltd recently handed over this prestigious project to Imtech Engineering Services for the Basement Car Park.
The underground Car Park has a capacity of over 100 cars and is a fully mechanical ventilation system compliant with Approved Documents B & F of the current Building Regulations and designed in accordance with British Standard BS7346: Part 7: 2013 is installed. The system is designed to provide smoke dispersal in accordance with BS7346: Part 7: 2013 Clause 9 in the event of fire.
During design & construction a number of CFD’s were required due to the nature of the building structure & location of other services in & above the Car Park.
