Farmiloe Building, Farringdon, London
The former premises of George Farmiloe & Sons a Lead & Glass merchants were one of Clerkenwell’s longest-established firms, trading from their headquarters in Farringdon, London.
During the company’s heyday in the first half of the twentieth century, the firm was supplying a variety of materials to the building trade, including paint, brass work and sanitary ware, as well as lead and glass.
PSB UK Ltd recently handed over this prestigious project to Wates Construction for the Above Ground Systems to the existing & new building.
The Above Ground & Environmental Cooling System has been designed to provide natural ventilation, from the various atriums and associated basement areas, in accordance with the requirements of The Approved Document B2 and BS9991.
Main control panel is sited on level 4 of the new build with PLC controller for control of atrium, lightwells and roof AOV’s
The system serves a Basement Level to operate automatically opening vents and doors at various fire zones & the Roof Level operates glazed atrium panels & lightwells.
The control systems also operate the roof level AOV’s for environmental cooling which is operated by the BMS system.
The control of the system is from the main key operated activation panel located next to the main fire alarm panel set out in the fire strategy.
