New Era Development, Sheffield – Above Ground Smoke Ventilation Systems
The New Era Development, which will compromise New Apartments, Grade A office space & a vibrant cosmopolitan food offer has been recently completed.
PSB UK Ltd recently handed over this prestigious project to Imtech Engineering Services for the Above Ground Mechanical Smoke Ventilation Systems.
The Above Ground Systems cover 3 No separate buildings E1, E2 & D1/D2.
The above ground & corridor smoke control systems have been designed to provide mechanical ventilation, from the stairwell and associated lobbies, in accordance with the requirements of The Approved Document B2 and BS9991.
The Staircores are protected from smoke contamination by a mechanical lobby smoke control system with the extract fan set mounted within a roof top plant area. Make up air to this system is via an automatic opening ventilator (AOV) mounted on top of the Staircore at roof level. The mechanical system serves each level.
The mechanical smoke control system is provided with 3 separate Master Control Panels containing the computerised control logic for the control of the complete system to the agreed cause and effect with signals from the fire alarm panels.
