The Charlie Ingham Award

The Charlie Ingham Award

The passing of Charlie Ingham in June marks a time of great sadness for his family, friends, and colleagues. At such times familiar phrases are often used to pay tribute to those taken away so unfairly before their time, but with Charlie it is absolutely clear that he sincerely deserves the words of praise many of his colleagues have offered to describe him. Charlie genuinely was a well-liked, hard-working, personable, and gifted individual, who had an undeniably promising career ahead of him.
A truly outstanding apprentice (who certainly would not have remained an apprentice for long), and a trusted friend to many, Charlie deserves far more by way of tribute than any of us could offer. However, in order to reflect Charlie’s personality, we felt that any commemorative honour in his name should be offered in the spirit not of regret or sadness but of celebration, and it is with this is mind that we would like to honour the memory of this outstanding young man by creating an award: The Charlie Ingham Award.
This new annual award will be presented to the ‘Top’ apprentice each year to mark out and celebrate significant achievement, and outstanding natural ability, talent, flair, and hard work.
